Do you use AI in your writing process?
Yes — and I want to be upfront about that. I use AI as a professional writing tool, much the way a designer might use advanced software or an editor might use digital research tools. The process still requires significant human skill: crafting your story, shaping your voice, asking the right questions, and making sure the final product sounds like you. AI helps me work efficiently and deliver a polished manuscript — but the thinking, the strategy, and the creative direction are mine, guided entirely by your vision.
Will my book sound like it was written by a robot?
Not at all. The goal is always for your book to sound like you — your voice, your story, your message. AI is one of several tools I use in the writing process, but every project is shaped, refined, and guided by human judgment from start to finish. Clients are often surprised by how personal and authentic the final manuscript feels.
Is AI-assisted ghostwriting "real" ghostwriting?
Ghostwriting has always evolved with the tools available — from typewriters to word processors to digital research. Today, skilled writers use AI the same way: as a tool that supports the craft, not replaces it. What you're hiring is expertise in storytelling, structure, voice, and communication. The result is a book that represents you well and says what you've always wanted to say.
How does the ghostwriting process work, start to finish?
Every project starts with a discovery conversation where I get to know you, your story, and your goals for the book. From there, I develop an outline for your approval before any writing begins. Once we're aligned on the structure and direction, I write the manuscript in stages, sharing drafts along the way so you can give feedback. We refine until the book feels right, and then deliver a final, polished manuscript ready for editing or publishing.
How do you capture my voice if you're the one writing?
This is one of the most important parts of the process. Before I write a single word, I spend time listening — through interviews, conversations, any existing content you've created, and detailed questions about how you think and communicate. The goal is for readers (and you) to feel like you wrote every page. Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how natural it sounds.
Will I need to be heavily involved, or can you work with minimal input from me?
That depends on you and your project. Some clients want to be closely involved at every stage, while others prefer to hand things off and stay largely hands-off. I can work either way. What I do need from every client is a solid upfront conversation to capture your voice, your story, and your vision — after that, the level of ongoing involvement is flexible.
How long does it take to write a book?
It depends on the length and complexity of the project, but most books take anywhere from two to six months from kickoff to final manuscript. Shorter projects can move faster; more involved books may take longer. I'll give you a realistic timeline estimate before we begin so you know what to expect.
What do you need from me to get started?
Mainly, your story, your goals, and your time for an initial conversation. Beyond that, I may ask for any existing notes, outlines, journals, sermons, speeches, or other content you've already created — these can be incredibly helpful in capturing your voice and shaping the book. I'll walk you through everything in our first call.
Who owns the book once it's finished?
You do — completely. Once the project is complete and payment is fulfilled, all rights to the manuscript transfer to you. Your name goes on the cover, and the work is entirely yours to publish, sell, or use however you choose.
Will you ever share that you wrote my book?
No. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of professional ghostwriting. I don't share client names, projects, or details — publicly or privately. Your book is your book, and our working relationship stays between us.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, absolutely. If you'd like a formal non-disclosure agreement in place before we begin working together, I'm happy to accommodate that. Many clients request one, and it's a completely normal part of the process.
How much does ghostwriting cost?
Ghostwriting is a significant investment, and pricing varies based on the length, complexity, and scope of the project. I provide custom quotes after an initial consultation so you're getting a price that reflects your specific project — not a one-size-fits-all number. I'm happy to discuss budget during our first conversation.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is required to reserve your spot and begin the project. The exact deposit amount and payment structure will be outlined in your project agreement before any work begins.
What does the payment structure look like?
Projects are typically broken into milestone-based payments tied to key stages of the writing process — such as the outline, first draft, and final delivery. This keeps things clear and predictable for both of us. Full details are included in the project agreement.
What if I don't like what you write?
Revisions are a normal part of the process, and your feedback is always welcome. If something isn't landing right, we talk through it and I adjust. The goal is a manuscript you're genuinely proud of, and I don't consider the project done until we get there.
How many rounds of revisions are included?
The number of included revision rounds varies by package and is outlined in your project agreement upfront. That said, I'd rather get it right than get it done — so if we need to work through additional feedback to reach a result you love, we'll find a way to make that work.
What does the editing and proofreading process look like?
My focus is on writing a strong, clean manuscript — but I always recommend a separate professional edit and proofread before publishing. I can advise on next steps and, in some cases, connect you with trusted editors depending on your publishing path.
Do you help with publishing after the book is done?
My primary focus is the manuscript itself, but I'm happy to talk through your publishing options and help you understand the landscape — whether that's self-publishing, working with a hybrid publisher, or pursuing a traditional deal. I want you to feel equipped for the next step, not left on your own once the writing is done.
Should I self-publish or pursue a traditional publisher?
Both paths have real advantages depending on your goals. Traditional publishing offers prestige and distribution but can take years and isn't guaranteed. Self-publishing gives you speed, control, and a higher royalty rate but requires you to manage more of the process. I'm happy to walk through the pros and cons with you during our consultation.
Can you help with book proposals?
If you're pursuing a traditional publisher or literary agent, a book proposal is often required. Reach out and let's talk about what you need — this may be something I can assist with depending on the project.
Have you written books in my topic area before?
Possibly — and if so, I'll tell you. But even if your topic is new to me, that's not necessarily a barrier. A big part of my job is learning your world quickly and writing from your perspective. What matters most is your expertise and my ability to translate it into a compelling book.
Can I see samples of your work?
Because ghostwriting is confidential by nature, I can't always share specific client projects by name. However, I can share writing samples or relevant examples during our consultation. Just ask.
What makes you different from other ghostwriters?
A few things. I take the time to genuinely understand your voice before I write anything. I'm transparent about my process, including my use of AI as a professional writing tool. I'm committed to confidentiality. And I care about the message behind your book — not just the word count. If you have something worth saying, I want to help you say it well.
